A Substantial extension that transforms the layout and space in a family home

We were invited to discuss our client’s ideas for a major extension project that would transform the layout and appeal of their family home set in a Kent village. A local architect had already looked at some options and we continued to provide a one-stop option... design, installation and related improvements.

The house had good space but suffered from a flawed layout. This was rectified and transformed by a rear extension that not only expanded the main living area, but also linked the kitchen. The new openings now create a flow through the home and connect all of the key zones meaning that nobody is isolated in the kitchen and the feeling of space is amazing. Impressive wide doors connect with a large garden, as do a further set of patio doors and full height window. This produces loads of light and a contemporary atmosphere.

Some of the key features of this project are:

  • Expansive space added to a house, creating a total change in the atmosphere and enjoyment of the layout.
  • New opening created and existing opening widened with new steel supports
  • All SIP panels pre-formed and quickly assembled on site.
  • Aluminium windows and doors installed.
  • External walls are rendered and painted.
  • The whole interior was plastered and decorated to the client’s choices, plus laminate flooring laid.
  • Additional works were undertaken to improve sound-proofing within the main house.
